This isn't the greatest epic movie ever made. But it surely is a fine movie that tells a simple story with strength in a mammoth scale that will entertain audiences for years to come. And Heston's performance is so moving that keeps this epic as a masterpiece of the sword-and-sandal era in the history of the American cinema.
