Review of Belle (2013) by Laura D — 30 May 2014

I could call Belle an historical fiction, but it does not quite fit. A tapestry of the subjects of a real painting, the facts of their lives and their family, a powerful forgotten history that is a part of the generational struggle against western slavery and racial prejudice, and theatrical license in the most positive sense makes a new genre of storytelling, masterly molded into this marvelous cinematic experience.

A must see movie!
