Review of Bella (2007) by Jason W — 30 Dec 2008
The melodrama in this movie is thick. The message is agreeable but it comes across as preachy. The movie sacrifices authentic content, story, characters and art to get a message across. Everything about the movie ends up becoming a tool rather than a legitimate expression of artistic voice.
The acting for the most part is solid as with other technical aspects, but it's a shame that much of this is lost by bad artistic vision on the part of the writers and director.
