Review of Hearts Beat Loud (2018) by Jason W — 13 Sep 2018
A well crafted, heartfelt indie movie. Offerman and Clemons develop a convincing father-daughter on screen partnership and the general performances from all the cast are commendable. The music is groovy, an almost technoed up version on indie alternative music.
Whilst I do feel Brett Haley has almost played it kind of safe with the story line, Hearts Beat Loud is an sweet, sincere tale of a parent learning to cope with their teenagers transition into adulthood as well as evolving their personal dreams.
