Review of Before Sunset (2004) by Andy W — 16 Apr 2011
I feel like the first is a romanticized dream-like version of this one. This comes back down to earth and the characters, now much more mature, have to deal with what their last encounter left them. Like the first film they talk about life, love, the world, human nature, etc. but they talk a lot more about themselves, and thus this is the more engaging film. It deals with true human drama. A real human relationship which fate got in the way of. These two films are truly a remarkable achievement from Linklater. And the performances by both actors are something special that doesn't come around often.
Great film and the ending, like with the first one, is pretty open ended.
