Review of Before Midnight (2013) by Omar E — 06 Mar 2014
Richard Linklater made amazing life drama telling us about a new stage of relations between Celine and Jesse. Nearly two decades have passed since their first meeting on the train to Vienna. Now between them can not be that pure, first love, and that's okay, life goes on.
Sensual clever dialogues, wonderful humor, vivid characters, all this on the background of beautiful Greece with maybe not very diverse, but accurate and attractive musical accompaniment. Before Midnight needs to be experienced passing through yourself. You completely immersed in this movie, but Linklater does not impose anything.
Ethan Hawk and Julie Delpy play just fine, and carefully written screenplay does not break away from the film for a minute. Perhaps the only minus of the film is sometimes a little simulated scenes. Definitely Before Midnight is one of the best films of the year.
