Review of Becket (1964) by Tedmund C — 13 Nov 2007
The story is good... but there's something about the acting and the dialogue that doesn't ring true. Then again, it's difficult to pretend to be a saint on film. (The same problem plagues A Man for All Seasons.
) This was too much of a Hollywood production from a certain period. While movies from that period may be more family-friendly, they have other drawbacks.
