Review of Becket (1964) by Laura N — 20 Jul 2009
There were a few historical inaccuracies. (Eleanor of Aquitaine was going to go running to her father and complain about Henry? Her father had been dead for over 30 years at this point.) And it was a tad on the melodramatic side.
But I did LOVE Peter O'Toole as Henry II. He was just so....MANIC. And Richard Burton just has that sad soulful wounded look for the entire second half of the movie. Overall, it had a superb cast and was very well done.
