Review of Becket (1964) by Elise H — 28 Feb 2013
O'Toole is brilliant as the childish and tortured Henry II. The good king has boundary problems (as most monarchs do) but also seems conflicted on exactly what kind of relationship he expects from his best friend.
Unlike most reviewers, I do not find this performance from Burton worthy of him: he seems wooden and unbelievable as a devout and taciturn man of the cloth.
