Review of Beach Rats (2017) by Derk F — 08 Sep 2017
An insight to a young man's struggle with his sexuality, his deep family issues, his community's immature views, and the easy temptations to fit in while numbing the edges. The approach is provocative and subtle, and many might find that fireworks is missing in the plot, but for me the fireworks is more analogous and less explosive, and fulfills at a deeper level.
