Review of Battleship (2012) by Mr C — 27 Dec 2014
This was quite an addictive computer game in its day, one that I could waste endless hours playing and still not get bored. A bit different to this movie really because I was pretty much bored all the way through.
How it was meant to be based on the classic battleships set up I don't know because this was far from fun and easy to understand. It felt very much like a transformers film whereby all the money was invested in making big ships produce special effects in blowing one another up but it was confusing to understand which ship was which and who was on board what vessel.
How the alien boats came to be on earth I'm not sure, and how they got about blowing one another up, I'm not sure either as it was endless amounts of unexplained explosions. Usually when a pop star tries their luck at movies it's usually in a b movie that has no credibility whatsoever, but to be fair, Rihanna was probably one of the main highlights as she performed a relatively normal role, kept her clothes on and didn't just go around the place screaming.
It was pretty obvious that she wasn't going to die though! It's hard to do a proper review on this as it was just so difficult to comprehend what was actually happening and why. I felt myself nodding off which didn't help, and all the characters kind of merged into one making it impossible to distinguish the key individuals.
For a blockbuster that had cinematic release, this was really quite bad and I wouldn't recommend it if you haven't seen it already as it's one of the most unexplainable two hours that you'll never get back of your life.
