Review of Battle of Britain (1969) by Jeff H — 12 Feb 2009
Fantastic aerial sequences. For previous posters mentioning aircraft for this film, none of the German aircraft were original WWII aircraft. The Stukas were models, the HE 111's were CASA 111's (made under license in Spain), and the Me109's were actually Hispano Buchons (with Rolls- Royce Engines).
There were 10 different airworthy Spitfires of different Mk's, and 3 airworthy Hurricanes in the film. There were many static models and "taxiable' models as well. The main RAF station used in the bombing sequences was Duxford.
