Review of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 (2012) by Amir M — 21 Nov 2012
This is a pretty good adaptation of the comics. My only gripes with this, and some of the other DC Animated films is the voice actor choices. Now, Peter Weller does a very good job as the crusty Dark Knight, but I would have prefered Kevin Conroy's Old Bruce Wayne/Batman voice acting.
They (DC Animation) have an incredible array of "in-house" talent, that they really have no need to farm out the jobs, unless that actor had another gig, of course. Why mess with voice acting perfection? My other gripe is that this was made in TWO PARTS!!!! Why couldn't they have just realeased it whole as a two disc set in the first place?!? Anyway, Rent, Buy, or Borrow this "movie" you shouldn't be disappointed.
Also, this is not for the whole family, so use your best judgement. :).
