Review of Batman Forever (1995) by Matt K — 17 Sep 2013
Tim Burton gave up. Warner Bros. was desperate. Let's put in Joel Schumacher, he likes Batman. PERFECT! WRONG!! Schumacher forgets the previous two film's dark style of filmmaking and atmosphere and went to the campy 60s basics for inspiration.
Little is found or given in Batman Forever. Jim Carrey may be mildly amusing, but Tommy Lee Jones shouldn't be in this. As for the good guys, Nicole Kidman couldn't play a Batman-anything. She'd be better used as Clayface.
At least her looks would make sense then. And Val Kilmer and Chris O'Donnell effectively soil their careers forever. Batman fornever.
