Review of Batman Forever (1995) by Humunguschungus — 06 Jun 2019
Batman forever does its best to right the wrongs of the last film (at least in the studio's eyes) but in the end it created what is the least offensive and extremely dull comic book film of the era. The more comedic tone and family oriented atmosphere is rather off putting when one considers the relative success of the previous installments.
Jim Carrey has an amazing performance as Edward Nygma, and even Tommy Lee Jones has his moments, but in the end Joel Schumacher is simply not the director that Tim Burton is, regardless of the latter's mixed output.
