Review of Batman (1989) by Eric B — 15 Jun 2014
The first "real" Batman film. Michael Keaton was a fantastic Batman, Jack Nicholson was a fantastic Joker, and Tim Burton did a great job directing this film making it serious and dark. Although I love this film, it just simply cannot stand up to The Dark Trilogy and it has many problems regarding the mythology of Batman.
The film would have been 100x better if: Joker did not kill Bruce's parents, if we and Batman never saw Jokers face or name before he became Joker, and he was part of the Red Hood Gang when he fell into the acid.
film was still great for its time though.
