Review of Basic Instinct (1992) by Carl R — 20 Feb 2009
A great thriller a career best performance for Sharon Stone, which puts her right up there with Kathy Bates(Misery) and Charlize Theron(Monster)as one of the great female killers only difference being she didn't get a Oscar for it.She plays the part of the devious seductrous novelist with mesmerising sexual manipulation and a risque confidence that really is intriguing to watch. The movie is deceptively brilliant aswell with well executed mis-direction that keeps you on edge.
It has a daring intensity,a puzzling mystery and a pervasive sinister feel that keeps you glued right through to its unsurprising but yet still fantastic final shot.Loved it!
