Review of Bartok the Magnificent (1999) by Ranny L — 29 Oct 2012
If you liked the movie Anastasia, you will probably enjoy the prequel: Bartok the Magnificent! Bartok is an Albino bat, who impresses all of Russia with his performances, including Prince Ivan Romanov. One day, the prince is reported to have been kidnapped by the evil witch Baba Yaga, so the town asks Bartok to rescue him. In order to find the prince, Bartok has to enter the woods, and complete three difficult tasks for the witch. Will Bartok fulfill these tasks and save the prince? Watch the movie to find out!
The main message of the movie is to have courage and confidence in you. The movie has some lively musical numbers with positive messages like this one.All of the characters in the movie have likable personalities, and I also thought the voices of each of the characters suit them well.
I recommend this movie to all ages, but more to younger audiences. The plot of the movie will definitely appeal to younger children, but there some big words, such as agitated, and jokes that they might not understand. The animation is very simple, allowing younger kids to understand the facial expressions of the characters better. Watch Bartok the Magnificent all month on HDNet Movies at kidScene!
