Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Kevin H — 06 Apr 2009
Stanley Kubrick's period movie, Barry Lyndon may be a little long at times but overall satisfies more than most movies of this type. Ryan O'Neal is excellent in the title role and there are some fine performances from Magee and Berkoff to anchor the film.
A superb story as well, Kubrick was always capable of taking the best portions of the books he was adapting and this time is no different. If you have 3 and a half hours to kill you could do much worse than this excellent film.
