Stanley Kubrick's meticulous costume epic is probably his most misunderstood film; some attribute it's leisurely pace to directorial fussiness (and Kubrick sure was fussy), others just find it boring, but the critical majority has come around and now acknowledge it as a minor masterpiece in the director's revered cannon.
