Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Any O — 24 Sep 2013

I really did not like this movie though I am a big Kubrick fan. It was at once boring and tedious though very pretty to look at "like an oil painting" as many reviewers pointed out. Though some of the characters and situations were interesting it was not enough to sustain attention through such a long film.

Ryan O'neal was thoroughly unbelievable which Kubrick obviously intended but for reasons I couldn't fathom. Very disappointing.
