Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Marco F — 07 Feb 2014
BARRY LYNDON is the most aesthically interesting of all of Stanley Kubrick's films- and it's an amazingly free movie in terms of creativity; the whole film is really one big painting; the film really did transport me into that 18th century period.
But I don't like it as much as a number of his other films- maybe Kubrick's ahead of me for some reason- but the film is very, very slow; I don't understand why he employed this style and thought it would effectively structure and pace the film.
Maybe I'll have to watch this one again.
