Review of Baraka (1992) by Rajneel S — 15 Feb 2009
Exotic, exquisite, poetry in motion and motion becomes the medium, narrative and narration-less documentary is a celebration of sight, color, sound and atmosphere as it hurtles us across some of the most unfamiliar an unseen ends of the earth.
The film is quite long and some sequences - without the benefit of a giant screen and blasting surround sound - will drag, but the overall effect is a tour-de-force in any language. Remarkable and rarely equaled.
