Review of Bangkok Dangerous (2008) by Kim T — 05 Feb 2010
Bangkok Dangerous: Nicholas Cage is back for another weird movie. His acting isn't the best in this action/drama but it works. The movie as a whole wasn't the greatest but the plot development and the side stories kept in pace with the action.
I love a movie that knows when to separate its action from its drama and this film affectionately does. The whole "The hit man has become the target" premise is getting old in my book and I want something new.
This movie doesn't really bring anything new to the table besides the ending which was a complete shocker for me. The film got as good as an Asian film starring Nic Cage can get, which isn't very good in my eyes.
Overall, the action was cool, story line decent, and the acting as good as Nic Cage can get. I give it a C+.
