Review of Bamboozled (2000) by Brittany H — 14 Jun 2007

A lot of people seem to think that this is spike lee's worst movie. at least it was his most poorly recieved financially and critically as far as I can see. and sure "Do The Right Thing" kindof takes the cake and some of the cinematic descisions made on this film were a little pretentious if not down-right annoying.

but there's something about this movie that is just so wonderful and powerful that it stands out. I think, what I liked most about it, was that it presented a very real issue and very real emotions via an ensamble made up almost entirely of caricatures.

which of course makes it satire and, therefore, fascinating to me. both very funny and very upsetting...sometimes simultaneously.
