Review of Bamboozled (2000) by Thomas F — 29 Sep 2007
This is possibly -the- best filmic commentary on race ever made. Spike Lee's both visually and thematically unorthodox movie addresses a broad spectrum of representations of blackness, carefully straddling the thin line between parody and repetition.
Emotionally this a thrill-ride with comic and deeply tragic moments, where you're never exactly sure how to react. Took my breath away - astounding!
