Review of Ballad of a Soldier (1959) by Xuan P — 06 Mar 2009
This movie starts out like a loud war epic, but then it slowly turns into a heartbreaking road movie painted using wide strokes of neorealism later sprinkled with bits a pieces of romance. The result is an mesmerizing film of incredible power that will stay with you long after the last frame is gone.
It has been saveral days now since I saw it, and I just can't stop thinking about it.
