Review of Ball of Fire (1941) by Courtney S — 10 May 2011
Lovable and romantic screwball comedy has dancer and singer Sugar Puss O'shea (barbara Stanwyck) engaged to a gangster (Dana Andrews), but somehow, inexplicably, ends up instead with conservative, strait-laced, extremely bookish English whiz academic professor Gary Cooper who is busy writing an encyclopedia, but decides he has to leave his cloistered environment to learn the new city slang.
Somehow, the film reminds me of "Snow White and the seven dwarfs".
