Review of Bad Day at Black Rock (1955) by Rolf S — 18 Oct 2007
A very good film with Spencer Tracy and Robert Ryan. Definitely one of those films that the viewer needs to imagine themselves watching at the time when it oriignally was released (1955). This film deals heavily with anti-Japanese racism.
Further, it's a western, but instead of cowboys, stallions, and sweeping landscapes from the John Ford epics, this film shows the West as stagnant and dying, cut off from the rest of the 'civilized' country.
A very good watch.
