Review of Bachelorette (2012) by Timothy A — 09 Nov 2012
Aiming for several genres at once and hitting none, the laughs are genuine but too few and far between to sustain this as a genuine comedy, and the set-pieces are too absurdist for a dramedy. Kirsten Dunst's note perfect performance as a young before her time 30-year-old dowager belongs in a far better film, preferably one that doesn't demonstrate Rebel Wilson's complete inability to do the American accent so much and show that lightening doesn't strike twice with Adam Scott and Lizzy Caplan comprehensively failing to recapture the chemistry they had in 'Party Down'.
