Review of Bachelorette (2012) by Justin C — 02 Sep 2012
Bachelorette can easily be written off as a Bridesmaids rip-off and it kinda is in a sense. But Bachelorette has some genuinely hilarious moments from all three main girls. The humor is much darker than Bridesmaids though, these jokes leave bruises, and Isla Fisher's story as Katie transcends into some pretty dark territory near the end.
The film is more lighthearted near the beginning and that's where it shines as a comedy, the last half doesn't fall apart, but just becomes more serious and is kind of a bummer. Though Bachelorette isn't perfect in any regard, it has potential for a good night in with the girls and a bottle of wine.
...maybe two.
