Review of Babette's Feast (1987) by Algy G — 25 Nov 2007
I do not usually like historical movies like this. However, this is charming. It is interesting to watch French Babette cooking in oldfashioned Danish farm house kitchen without fancy equipment. The dinner she makes is one of the greatest I have seen on a flim.
Feelings in the movie are simple but honest expressions. It is also nice to see the life in farm houses in Jutland, and the beautiful landscape along the coast.
