Darker than the first and completely original. Also, surprisingly good. As any good sequel should, it doesn't rehash the first film in any way. I liked how the "city" basically represents all cities.
The animals were completely different as well. Throw out all of your expectations and give the film a chance. It made me curious what a third installment might have been like.
