Review of Azumi (2003) by Simon M — 06 Jan 2009
A wholly superficial, if incredibly stylish, Japanese actioner from the guy behind Versus. Nearly completely devoid of plot, characterisation or good dialogue, the film exists purely so we can watch funny-dressed ninjas - including the very attractive Aya Ueto - get medieval on the arses of numerous lackies.
And it does that last part rather well, though not with the same finesse and beauty that Versus did.
