Review of Awakenings (1990) by Jouni U — 19 Feb 2009
Awakenings is based off of the true events of Dr. Oliver Sack's(portrayed as Dr. Michael Sayer in the film by Robin Williams) and his medical breakthroughs with catatonic patients, particularly Leonard Lowe(Robert DeNiro),who had suffered from a form of Encephalitis.
..Both Williams and DeNiro give extraordinary performances in this very touching film.
