With more twists and turns than the Nurburgring, Awake starts out well, but then descends into a bit of a farce, piling more and more doom and gloom on the viewer as every second goes by. That's not to say it isn't tense at times.
But when a movie focuses on nothing but plot twists, they become a surprise no longer. The surprise comes when there isn't one. And that just doesn't feel right.
