Review of Autumn Sonata (1978) by Anne F — 23 Oct 2008
The story of a very dysfunctional relationship between a mother and her daughters; love, hatred, guilt, blame, forgiveness and selfishness, they're all in this film. I found the film unrewarding to watch as the two main characters (played by Bergman and Ullman) were so deeply damaged to a point beyond redemption.
