Audition is a surprisingly more human movie than one would think. Yes, Audition is ruthless, yes it is grisly, yes it is frightening. But it is also a very sweet film that loves its protagonist and cares about what happens to him.
Audition rises above its "torture porn" brethren. It is an exceedingly well made horror movie.
