This film (whose lead character is an abused donkey) deals with issues such as religion, morals, injustice etc. On the other hand, it's still just a story about a donkey. Bresson's films are so downbeat that they won't astonish you like that - yet there are a lot of things you could say about this movie but I'll rather let it speak for itself.
