Review of Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) by Dave H — 12 Jul 2008
Nothing special by Disney standards, but pretty good by most others. Has a blink-and-you'd-miss-it 200 body count (high for Disney, no?) and an uneasy balance between archaeological hypothesis and sci-fi fantasy that Jules Verne managed with more subtlety.
Nice derivation though of a formulaic concept, gets by on some cool character and voice work, and some exciting action.
