Review of Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) by Caleb M — 26 Oct 2009
Atlantis could have used some more patience and a more serious tone. We never get a true feeling of wonder and discovery here. The visuals, however, are a delight and Michael J. Fox is one well-known actor whom I feel has a great voice for animation (and I love John Mahoney as an eccentric adventurer).
There is some spectacular stuff here, and if Disney had given the film more room to breath they would have had a true gem. As it is, Atlantis: The Lost Empire is a fun little sci-fi flick geared for the kids with enough visual dazzle for adults to enjoy.
