Review of Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) by Michael N — 20 Sep 2013
This movie is a great movie that depicts not only a great story but also a great message. This movie is a classic in its own right and to me was done during a time that was best to be a child. The biggest thing that I really felt was done well with this movie was the message about friendship, doing what is right, and individuality.
Each character has a sense of individuality that all are like pieces of the puzzle to their adventure. This helps show that not only can you be who you want to be but if you work together you can accomplish anything.
You can see the message about doing what is right, when you take a look at the entire movie. At first everyone (except Milo) is in this adventure to capture fame and money from Atlantis and ignoring the idea of what Atlantis is and why it is kept hidden all these years.
Milo on the other hand is appreciative and thirsty for knowledge about Atlantis' disappearance and history. After the group (primarily through Commander Rourke) reveals their true intentions with Milo they are left with the decision on sticking with the plan for power and fortune, which would kill Atlantis, or to stop Lt.
Rourke and save Atlantis. Well the story unfolds with the characters doing what is right and saving Atlantis. Great job overall.
