Review of Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) by Rudy L — 09 Aug 2009
If you're like me, you probably caught interest in this movie wondering what these explorers were going to do once they reached Atlantis. I personally wasn't disappointed, though some people will definitely be mildly confused.
If you're used to the usual Disney formula and can't bare to handle a change, you probably won't like this film; it's not some family-friendly fantasy involving cute characters and inspiring songs; it's more like a sci-fi film for the older audience, which, for me, wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
The characters are as interesting as the crew from Stranger in a Strange Land, the visuals are amazing, and the storyline is actually quite interesting. It's another one of those films where you have to ignore all its cliches in order to enjoy it.
