Typical of this era as far as Over the top characters, boistrous personalities. And the special effects, heavy use of miniaturs. The first scenes are perfect examples...the background is obvious.
I like the use of tv monitors for viewing outside (instead of windows...something nasa and subs should do, glass isn't a good idea for obvious reasons) but the lamps inside the ship LOL total opposite!
Anyway it's actually not that bad of a movie. If it comes on tv give it a watch.
