Review of Ashes and Diamonds (1958) by Michael D — 16 May 2012
Didn't quite do it for me - mainly because I found the main character very irritating and a weak pastiche of the James Dean/Brando rebellious figure and the female lead is an inarticulate cipher. Some beautifully filmed scenes but I failed to engage with the movie beyond admiring it stylistically.
