Review of Art of the Devil 2 (2005) by Alyssa N — 30 Jan 2008

For fans of extreme, gory horror movies, this gruesome Thai film should be a required rental. Unfortunately, the acting here rivals that of most American horror movies, which makes it hard to take the movie as seriously as it deserves.

Still, this horror film has its fair share of disturbingly memorable moments, including fishhooks tearing through a guy's skin (from the INSIDE), and one of the most disgusting, nausea-inducing stews you'll ever see people eat.

There's even an intriguing back-story with some twists thrown in for good measure. The twists may not be entirely believable, but at least they're unpredictable and they keep things interesting.
