The movie is realistic and dark, not in a morbid sense, but in a very dusty, gritty formate reminiscent of the Real old west as described in authentic history books of New Mexico in the 1880's.This movie as directed by Ed Harris is to say the least honest in that, the law doesn't alway win, judges are not without a price and their women (Renà (C)e Zellweger) as Allison French are as practical as the west created them.
