Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Vishal C — 27 Jul 2013
Apocalypse now is an excellent film. It chronicles the journey of one Capt. Willard and his realization of the madness and horror of war. The movie takes you much beyond the literal level with a plethora of meaning.
Each characters is extremely well developed, and each scene leaves you more horrified than the last. The haunting final scene ends the movie on a disconcerting note, one of uncertainty and fear, representing the what the soldiers felt throughout.
This is matched with an equally disconcerting soundtrack, scenery, and photography. Coppola has created a masterpiece, one that has deep implications. This is definitely a must see for the movie fanatic.
