Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by George B — 02 Jul 2014
The definition of a masterpiece. All the components of Coppola's war epic come together to create a beautiful and meaningful picture. From the early scenes of Martin Sheen's wild character behaviour and Robert Duvall's iconic portrayal, to the stunning final act.
The entire film thrives on the anticipation of Brando's Colonel Kurtz; a character that far from disappoints. The film completely justifies it's title as an entirely insane viewing experience to which no cast member is anything other than faultless.
