Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Christianw. — 22 May 2006
The original balanced all the elements out nicely to make a terrifying, disturbing and utterly brilliant film. The redux version messes up this fragile balance by adding too much uninteresting new material that ruins the pace of the movie completly.
I was particularly disappointed with the playboy bunny reprise- sheen and co are supposed to be in hell..there are no obliging playboy bunnies in hell. And the French colonists scene was so boring- it served no purpose.
